Privacy policy

Last updated 2026. Governed by Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and applicable provincial law).

Unposted (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you have. We collect only what we need for the purposes below, and we ask for your consent before sharing anything that identifies you.

What we collect

  • Rate-check inputs. The mortgage details you enter (rate, amount, down payment, term, type, region, deal type) to compute your benchmark. These are not tied to your identity unless you choose to connect or set an alert.
  • Contact details, only if you ask us to act. If you ask to be connected with a broker, or to watch your rate, we collect the name, email, and (if you choose phone contact) the phone number you provide, together with a record of the exact consent wording you agreed to and when.
  • De-identified usage. We record anonymous events about how the tool is used (which step, which product) to improve it. This telemetry deliberately contains no contact information.
  • Uploaded offers. If you upload or paste an offer, we read the rate and product from it to prefill the form and do not store the document.

How we use it

To compute and show your benchmark; to connect you with licensed brokers or lenders when you expressly ask; to email you about your watched rate when you opt in; and to keep the service working and honest. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share your contact and mortgage details with one or more licensed mortgage brokers or lenders only when you give express consent on the connect form. We may route that information through a reputable mortgage lead service to reach those brokers. We use standard service providers (hosting, email) bound to protect your data. We do not share your details with anyone for the rate benchmark or the watch-my-rate feature beyond what is needed to deliver them.

Your consent, and withdrawing it

Sharing your details for a broker connection, and sending you rate-alert emails, each happen only with your express consent, and each is a separate choice. You can withdraw at any time. We will stop any further sharing and stop emailing you promptly. Please note we cannot recall information already sent to a broker; you can also ask that broker directly to stop contacting you (replying to their email unsubscribes you from them).

To withdraw, email withdraw@unposted.ca or use the withdrawal link shown after you connect.

Access, correction, retention

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@unposted.ca. We keep lead and consent records only as long as needed for the purpose and to meet legal obligations, then delete them.
